How the Shampoos Work: They are designed to clean & nourish the hair follicles without stripping away too many natural scalp oils or extracting the glues that hold the protein hair shaft together. They have a relatively low pH that permits good cleaning but avoids the harsh alkaline pH of most commercial shampoos. Although the shampoos lather well,they contain no sodium lauryl sulphate that tends to damage the hair shaft & scalp. The shampoos are made from a multivitamin-herbal shampoo base complex that includes essential fatty acids of vegetable origin, aloe vera gel, vitamins A, E & the B group, horse chestnut, citric acid & an anti-microbial moisturizer. Essential fatty acids containing omega 3 return the oils to the hair & scalp that are stripped when shampooing. They do not make hair oily or sticky but instead have a hydrating effect on the skin. Skin & hair are two of the fastest reproducing cells in the body & essential fatty acids stimulate cell reproduction, renewing hair growth & preventing hair ageing. Not only does the oil help prevent scalp ailments such as psoriasis, dandruff and eczema but it also penetrates deep into the scalp taking with it other beneficial ingredients. Aloe Vera gel is ideally suited for the skin and scalp because its pH is close to the pH of the skin. Hence it has been described as a potent natural product that the body recognises. With its synergistic mix of essentials vitamins, minerals, proteins & enzymes, Aloe Vera gel has been included as a principal ingredient in the full range of our shampoos & conditioners. Of its many attributes Aloe Vera is known to sooth the skin & scalp when irritated or inflamed thus preventing scaring & promoting hair growth. Vitamin A & E nourish each strand of fine dry brittle or over processed hair with anti-oxidant protection. They nourish the scalp & are known as the vitamins that maintain a healthy skin. The B vitamins are generally used for their anti-stress qualities when taken internally. But they have also been shown to stimulate hair growth in some cases. Hair may fall out during periods of stress, pregnancy or illness. A B6 deficiency may cause hair loss & a folic acid deficiency may cause total baldness. Greying hair may be due to lack of copper, folic acid, pantothenic acid & PABA. Biotin, PABA, inositol and folic acid part of B vitamin complex are reputed to cause hair growth & a return of the natural colour. Horse chestnut restores the luster to dry, coarse hair giving it a rich glossy finish. It enhances natural browns & gives a natural appearance to coloured hair giving it depth & shine. Horse chestnut is a base ingredient of all Absolutely Natural shampoos. It improves blood circulation to the scalp & an Italian study has found that it may help reduce hair loss. Citric acid is a stabilising ingredient in our shampoos. It is a weak organic acid & found in citrus fruit. It not only keeps the pH of the shampoo low, but it also is a good natural preservative, thus protecting the finished product from bacterial and fungal attack. It is non-toxic when swallowed and does not irritate the skin. It plays an important role in our body s biochemistry and occurs in virtually all living things. Our preservative is naturally occurring and is not only anti-microbial but is also moisturising. It has been developed in Germany to improve the water binding capacity of the skin. In clinical testing, this ingredient has been found to increase skin moisture by approximately 30%. Its outstanding microbiological stabilisation properties, means that it acts as a preservative without requiring the addition of further synthetic preservatives. How the Conditioners Work: They are formulated to re-acidify the hair after shampooing. By restoring this natural acid environment to the hair and scalp, the hair proteins remain hard and the growth of foreign bacteria is prevented. The main ingredients found in the conditioner base that are different from the shampoos are D-Panthenol and lactic acid. D-Panthenol is a high quality ingredient that reseals the hair cuticles after shampooing. It is designed to help detangle hair and add a lustrous shine. D-Panthenol is the naturally occurring form of Pantothenic acid (B5) found in human hair that supports the growth and maintenance of bodily tissues. When applied to hair it is quickly absorbed into the hair shaft where it thickens and moisturizes. Vitamin B5 helps with the bonding process, allowing the outer cuticle layers of the hair to lie flat. If the cuticle stays open it can start a tear in the hair shaft that ultimately leads to breakage of the hair shaft. This is why it is so important to use a conditioner after every shampoo. Description: This is a deeply cleansing mask formulated from natural rich volcanic mud.
This high quality mud mask will penetrate deep into your face to remove day-to-day grime, impurities and dead skin cells. Your skin will feel refreshed and naturally cleaned. It contains vegetable based fatty acids, sodium carbonate, soda meta silicate, citric acid and essential oil of lemon. It does not contain any sodium lauryl sulphate. It is a thick liquid concentrate and washes your dishes sparkling clean. It does not cause dry or chapped hands as it contains no harmful chemicals that leach natural oils from your skin. However, we do recommend wearing rubber gloves while washing dishes as hands tend to dry out in hot water.

We are ... "a strong advocate of encouraging sun safe practices. Be careful in the sun and make sure you follow the recommendations below for maximum enjoyment and minimum risk:
* Monitor burn time, check media. Ultra violet rays are most dangerous between 11am & 4pm.
* Seek shade or use an umbrella.
* Reapply sunscreen regularly, particularly after exercise or swimming.
* Wear a tee shirt, hat and sunglasses for added protection.
* Remember children's skin burns more quickly than an adults.
